To measure a carton box correctly for moving or shipping in Malaysia, follow the Length x Width x Height formula. Measure the longest side first (Length), the shorter side second (Width), and the vertical depth last (Height). Always measure the internal dimensions to ensure your items fit, especially when using resized or used cartons.

1. Why Precise Measurement Matters in Malaysia

Whether you are booking a Lalamove, Grab or J&T, for your house move or product shipping in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor, courier rates are often based on "Volumetric Weight." Measuring correctly ensures you don't overpay for shipping and helps our team at Boxcycles provide the perfect resized carton box for your specific needs.

2. The 3 Steps to Measuring Your Carton Box

Use a standard measuring tape and record your numbers in centimeters (cm) for the most accurate results:

  • Length (L): Looking at the open top of the box, this is the longest side.

  • Width (W): This is the shorter side of the opening.

  • Height (H): This is the vertical distance from the bottom of the box to the top opening.

Important for Storage: If you are stacking boxes for office storage, always measure the outside dimensions to ensure they fit your shelving units.

3. How Boxcycles Resizes for You

Many small businesses in the Klang Valley struggle with standard box sizes. At Boxcycles, we take high-quality used carton boxes or rejected printed boxes and resize them to your custom dimensions. This reduces the need for "void fill" (bubble wrap/paper) and lowers your overall packaging costs.
